Nipple eversion is indicated to correct inverted or flat nipples, a condition in which the nipples are retracted due to internal traction of the connective tissue fibers and lactiferous ducts, preventing them from protruding properly.
The treatment consists of sectioning these fibers to release the traction, allowing the nipple to regain its natural position. This procedure not only improves the aesthetics of the nipple and areola, but can also be integrated into a broader breast surgery, adjusting the shape and size of the breast.

Nipple and areola surgery
We offer specific treatments for the nipple and areola, either as part of a complete breast surgery or as an individual procedure, depending on each patient’s needs.
In inverted nipple surgery we must cut the lactiferous ducts that retract the nipple because they are too short. These ducts are responsible for carrying milk to the nipple during lactation. Therefore, after nipple eversion, lactation will not be possible. In any case, breastfeeding can be equally difficult with untreated inverted nipples because of the difficulty a newborn would have in suckling.
The normal diameter of a woman's areola is approximately 4 centimeters. Men's areolas are much smaller.
Whenever we perform an intervention on the nipple and areola there is a minimal risk of loss of sensation. In most cases it is a partial and transitory loss of sensation.
